It was a week before our third marriage anniversary when my husband and myself were having a cup of coffee and discussing how we can celebrate our anniversary. We thought we will take a break from work and have a short trip around. The first thing that was in our minds was to make sure our 1 year daughter would have fun.
It was a week before our third marriage anniversary when my husband and myself were having a cup of coffee and discussing how we can celebrate our anniversary. We thought we will take a break from work and have a short trip around. The first thing that was in our minds was to make sure our 1 year daughter would have fun.
When we started short listing the places, we saw there
was a place Dubare Elephant Camp in the list which attracted us, On further
investigation we found out that it is a great place to visit with kids and our
dear daughter loves Elephants(out of many of her toys she plays the most with
her elephant toys) so we were sure she will love it!!!. We booked for a
package with Jungle Lodges and Resorts, Dubare which happens to be a reputed
Karnataka government's Resorts. The package included a Safari ride into the
forest, Elephant interaction, Early morning walk across the river, coracle ride
and a beautiful homestay inclusive of food.
So we started from Bangalore on a Sunday
morning, feeling fresh and energetic. On the way we stopped for breakfast at the
famous Shivalli Tiffin Room on Mysore road. After the delicious breakfast and a
hot cup of coffee, we started our long drive to Dubare. We reached the venue at
around 1 PM, we were overwhelmed by the place, Our river side cottage was just
awesome :-) We had our buffet lunch which was simple home like yet very tasty.
We rested in the cottage for sometime till it was our time for tea and
then Safari ride, it was a open jeep safari. In a hope to spot some animals we
started our journey into the forest. We were lucky enough to spot a Bison,
Elephant, Tusker, a herd of Deer, peacocks and many other birds...In the night,
it was campfire and dinner around it which was a moment to cherish.
Next day started with a blissful walk in the forest
across the river and the sounds of chirping of the birds and of the flowing
river were music to ears. After that was a great Breakfast buffet and then the
most awaited Elephant interaction for which our daughter was eagerly waiting
for. We could bathe the elephants, feed them, take a ride on them, click lots and
lots of photographs around them... we enjoyed every bit of it. Our dd was
thrilled.
Overall it was a great experience and the best
anniversary celebrations :-) and what added to the celebrations was that my bank
account was credited with my first salary of second company :-)
nice..
